Reverend Heritage Munyakuri

Rev. Heritage Munyakuri is the lead pastor at El Shaddai Free Methodist Church. His passions include prayer, preaching, serving others and leading people to Jesus Christ.

Born and raised in central Africa, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2001. He immediately started to share the Good News with his friends, family and others who did not know Jesus.  It wasn’t long afterward that he felt a call to ministry and has been engaged in pastoral service ever since.

In 2004, war in Congo forced Rev. Heritage and his family to flee their homes in D.R. Congo. In 2007, they immigrated to the United States, finding their new home in Rochester, NY.

From 2009 to 2017 he was the assistant Pastor at New Hope church in Rochester. In 2017, he planted El Shaddai Free Methodist Church in Rochester and Buffalo.

God has been using Rev. Heritage to perform miracles of healing, including the casting out of demons and sickness as he ministers. He is also a recipient of the miracles of God. In 2005, God restored the eyesight of the then-blind Rev. Heritage during a church service in Burundi. He continues his ministry of healing through the power of Jesus Christ today.

Rev. Heritage is married to his beautiful wife Maombi Monique Munyakuri since 2010, and they have three girls and one boy together: Joy Ingabire Munyakuri; and Shalom Ganza Munyakuri; and Joshua Shama Munyakuri; and Shalit Nziza Munyakuri.

His family blesses him and is a tremendous encouragement to him. He loves to spend time with them and considers them a treasure from God.  He has shared with many that he made a covenant with God to take good care of them as long as he lives.

In his own words Heritage says, “I am honored to serve El Shaddai FMC church. My hope is that we are going to grow together as a unified church body and that no one will be left behind. I love El ShaddaI church and the people we are serving.

Rev. Heritage also ministers to others as a public speaker. He has spoken to many churches in Africa and the United States during the course of his ministry.
